He is also one of only 3 BLACK foals sired by Chicagoan, whose get number 109 and include only 2 out of 12 sons who have ever sired offspring.

2020 Black Colt | Out of the dam of our Morgan Breeder Sweepstakes and World Champion Newmont’s Timeless Joy, this high minded and bouncing colt is everything we’d hoped for when we thought long and hard about orchestrating a breeding to the many time champion, Merriehill Chicagoan.

Chicagoan was a thrilling show horse to watch, and by all accounts (including that of his lifetime trainer and partner, Stan Bodnar), the only classes he lost were the ones where he beat himself. He was unpredictable, flamboyant, charismatic and all show horse. His sire, Black River Zeus, was a full brother to World Champions Black River Pegasus and Black River Circe, sired by the great stallion Fleetwing, The dam of Zeu, Reata Goddess, was a daughter of the Brunk stallion Mango, and out of the famous producer Polly Forrest, granddaughter of the great sire Jubilee King and the dam of the full sisters Midwest Melody and Lovely Melody, who were the cornerstone of the Black River breeding program.

The dam of Chicagoan, Donna L, was a mare rich in old government, working western and Brunk lines, and has multiple crosses to the famous government stallion, Linsley, on her pedigree. Linsley was sired by none other than General Gates, and was out of the Headlight Morgan daughter, Sunflower Maid.
