2026 Black Filly | There has not been a foal by Windhover Winterhawk on the ground in almost a decade. Foaled in 1978, Winterhawk was a black son of World Champion Park Harness horse Beamington, and at the 1981 Morgan Grand National, he was the Grand National Champion Three-Year-Old Stallion, and was Top Five in both the 3YO Park Saddle Stallion, as well as 3YO Park Harness Stallion stakes. Early in his breeding career, he sired WHF Somewhere In Time, one of SpringMill Morgans’ early champions and the dam of SpringMill Renaissance, dam of DDR Raptor. He also sired WHF Ladyhawke, the dam of Saralin Morgan Farm’s good producing mare Dior, dam of the incredible producers Muse and Cause Celebre.
Ladybird is out of Merriehill Soul Sister, who is one World Championship away from being a Hall of Fame Broodmare as the dam of Merriehill Maleficent GCH and Merriehill Justify GCH.
We have high hopes for this rare and lovely black filly, and we are so impressed with her, we have bred our other Merriehill treasure, Merriehill Nighty Night to Winterhawk for 2027!
Her sire, Windhover Winterhawk (Beamington x UVM Witchcraft)
