August 2019 — Our Newmont Morgans have been out and about this year, winning classes and championships from New England to Kansas City! It will be an exciting Morgan Grand National for us with our many homebred Morgans showing with their owners.

Tim Roesink took NEWMONT’S TIMELESS JOY (Treble’s Timepiece x FMB Peaches ‘N Cream) to her first show of 2019 and came home with Grand Champion Mare honors from the competitive Buckeye Challenge Morgan Show. Although we are thrilled to have her win under our name, she is available for purchase and inquiries may be directed to Grove Pointe.

NEWMONT’S MILA BELLE CH (Minion Millennium x Winona’s Play Misty For Me) and trainer Becky Gruenberg of Stone Ledge Farm have had a strong year so far in the Western Pleasure Open and Ladies classes, winning the open championship at the 2019 Indiana Spring Classic and earning top ribbons at both Prairie State and The Morgan Masterpiece. She gets better with every ride and we are very proud of their accomplishments for owners Al & Kris Breyer, long time Morgan owners.

Also showing under the direction of Jamie and Becky Gruenberg is NEWMONT’S ANGELINA CH (Graycliff Tony GCH x Winona’s Play Misty For Me), purchased last year for Abagail Meyer after winning the Three Year Old Hunter Pleasure World Championship. In her last year in the junior division, Angelina has won the Junior Horse Hunter Pleasure Championship at both the Prairie State Classic and The Morgan Masterpiece shows, as well as her qualifiers at both.

NEWMONT’S MISS ANTOINETTE (Graycliff Tony GCH x RKB Sizzle) carried her young rider, Sylvia Peterson, to Top Ten honors in Walk/Trot English Pleasure 11 & Under in both her Grand National and World Championship classes. This sensible and kind mare is owned by Red River Valley Enterprises LLC and trained by Bert Earehart at Copper Leaf Stable in Wisconsin.

David Harding’s NEWMONT’S MISS MONEYPENNY (Minion Millennium x Aljaks Miss Wham I Am) has been making victory passes in both harness and saddle this year with Diana Harding and her daughter, Olivia Lahr. Diana enjoyed her win at the Summer Daze Regional in the Classic Pleasure Driving Masters Championship, and Olivia took her turn at the Buckeye Morgan Challenge as the Classic Pleasure Saddle Champion. Way to go, ladies!

Last year’s World Champion Park Harness Two Year Old, NEWMONT’S GET REAL (Get Busy x ALB Starry Night), is back for more with trainer Dwayne Knowles for owners Cindy Nord and Allyson Wandtke. He won the UPHA Park Harness Classic Championship at the Gold Cup Regional in June and we look forward to seeing him in OKC!

Tana Patel showed the lovely Newmont’s Pretty Please (SpiceOLife Present Tense GCH x Boxford Magdelina) at the Indiana Spring Classic and came away with a win in the English Pleasure/Park Snaffle Bit Green class. This mare is already accomplished in harness and we’re excited to see her now showing under saddle.
