October 2018 — The 2018 Morgan Grand National & World Championship Horse Show marked a milestone for our small breeding program, as we congratulate Cindy Nord and Allyson Wandtke on their Two Year Old Park Harness World Champion NEWMONT’S GET REAL (Get Busy x ALB Starry Night, by Liberation First Star), trained and shown by Dwayne Knowles at Broadmoor. This is our first homebred World Champion and we are positively thrilled! It’s a breeder’s dream to sell a foal to the right people with the right trainer, and this was certainly a Dream Team sale.

NEWMONT’S ANGELINA (Graycliff Tony GCH x Winona’s Play Misty For Me) and trainer Amanda DuPont were victorious as the Three Year Old Hunter Pleasure World Champions for owner Jessi Barr. This beautiful pair were also the Three Year Old Hunter Pleasure Futurity Reserve World Champions, as well as the UPHA Hunter Pleasure Classic Reserve Grand Champions and the Three Year Old Hunter Pleasure Mare Grand National Champions. Lots of coolers and plaques went home with Miss Jessi! Congratulations!

We were also excited to fly out and watch NEWMONT’S TIMELESS JOY (Treble’s Timepiece x FMB Peaches ‘N Cream) win Reserve World Champion Junior Mare honors, as well as Grand National Reserve Champion Two Year Old Mare. Mike Carpenter and Stephen Longo presented Joy for us, who is now home taking some much needed time off to grow up and mature. She is, however, available for purchase!

NEWMONT’S MISS ANTOINETTE (Graycliff Tony GCH x RKB Sizzle) carried her young rider, Sylvia Peterson, to Top Ten honors in Walk/Trot English Pleasure 11 & Under in both her Grand National and World Championship classes. This sensible and kind mare is owned by Red River Valley Enterprises LLC and trained by Bert Earehart at Copper Leaf Stable in Wisconsin.

The very eye-catching entry NEWMONT’S MISS MONEYPENNY (Minion Millennium x Aljaks Miss Wham I Am) took Diana Harding to a Reserve Grand National Championship in the Classic Pleasure Saddle Ladies Mare and a Top Ten in the World Championship for owner David Harding of Indianapolis, Indiana. The Hufferds of Triumph Stables in Roanoke, Indiana train this lovely and colorful mare.
